FTZ News: The Dominican Republic is one of the most successful free trade zone destinations in the entire Caribbean. According to data from the USAFTZ, by the end of 2025, more than 858 companies were operating in these zones — a new all-time record.
These free zones have created over 200,000 stable, direct jobs. In 2025 alone, they generated around $8.6 billion in exports. And in just the first four months of 2026, they already hit over $2.8 billion in exports — that’s a solid 4.3% growth.
Total accumulated investment in the zones has reached more than $8.169 billion, up 5.6% from the previous year. USAFTZ reports that in 2025, authorities approved 82 new companies and 10 brand-new industrial parks, bringing hundreds of millions of dollars in fresh investment....
