China’s Fujian Free Trade Zone Adjusts Administrative Services and Export Logistics
FTZ News: China’s Fujian Pilot Free Trade Zone is adjusting administrative services and export logistics, with changes in Pingtan’s paperwork procedures and a shift in how finished vehicles move through the Jiangyin port area.
In Pingtan, firms can now complete more standard filings without leaving the zone for outside offices. The change is intended to reduce routine delays for companies operating in the zone. Separately, the share of finished vehicles moved by combined sea and rail from Jiangyin reached a monthly high, according to a notice on the zone’s official site. The higher share suggests that combined sea-and-rail transport accounted for a larger portion of vehicle movements, though the zone has not released the underlying volume totals or provided a comparable basis for earlier months.
In Xiamen, authorities published a 2026 environmental, social and governance (ESG) index and report. The release does not specify how many companies are covered or provide a year-over-year comparison.
None of the recent steps changes the zone’s basic customs or tax rules. The adjustments instead deal with how companies already inside the zone handle paperwork, move goods and report non-financial performance. The changes’ economic impact will depend on whether they shorten routine filing times and improve shipping efficiency, outcomes that cannot yet be assessed from the available data on processing times, shipment volumes and operating costs./.
