Hypertherm Wins One - Year Production Approval at New Hampshire’s FTZ 81
FTZ News: The Foreign-Trade Zones Board has authorized Hypertherm Inc. to make plasma cutting equipment and components under zone procedures at its plants in Hanover and Lebanon, New Hampshire, according to a notice published Nov. 5.
The company filed the notification on March 20 for Subzone 81H. The board published it for public comment on March 26. On Nov. 2 the board told Hypertherm that no further review is warranted at this time. The production activity was authorized on a limited basis, subject to the FTZ Act and board regulations, and further limited to one year.
The authorization does not cover the use of precision-cut hafnium wire as a foreign-status component. That material requires further review. If Hypertherm wants to use it, the company must file a full application for production authority. The notice does not list the other foreign-status materials or finished products covered by the one-year authorization./.
