Massport pulls Applied Materials subzone bid in four Massachusetts towns
FTZ News: The Massachusetts Port Authority has withdrawn its request for a foreign-trade subzone for Applied Materials, Inc. The Foreign-Trade Zones Board put that in a notice dated Sept. 28. It was filed Oct. 1 at 8:45 a.m., as document 2026-20260, at 91 FR 62690, docket B-41-2026. Colin Agostisi, the board’s executive secretary, signed it.
Massport, which holds Foreign-Trade Zone 27, had sought subzone status for Applied Materials plants in Boylston, Gloucester, Newburyport and Rowley. The application was docketed April 15 and published April 20, at 91 FR 20973. Massport asked to drop it because of “outstanding issues that need to be addressed.” The case was closed without prejudice. Massport can file again. The notice does not say what those issues were./.
