Masdar City Free Zone Opens First China Office in Suzhou

FTZ News: Masdar City Free Zone in Abu Dhabi opened its first representative office in China. The office is inside Suzhou Industrial Park. On the same trip, officials signed several memorandums in Suzhou and in Beijing.

Okaz reported that the Abu Dhabi Investment Office took part in the trip and that Suzhou Yingdi Consulting will run the office, pointing Chinese companies toward setting up in Abu Dhabi. A separate agreement with Beijing’s Zhongguancun cluster covers startup setup packages.

Masdar says more than 2,000 companies from over 90 countries already operate in the zone. Mohammed Al Breiki, the free zone’s executive director, called the office a bridge between Abu Dhabi and China’s tech centers. The announcement does not say how many firms are actually expected to move.
