Chinese Firm Starts Greenhouse Near Brest, Eyes Free Zone Later
FTZ News: A Chinese firm that won the tender has started work on a greenhouse for Berestye Greenhouse Plant, outside Brest. The house is for cucumbers and tomatoes all year. A larger site, the local official said, would later go into the Brest Free Economic Zone.
According to Reform.news, Ryhor Panasiuk said he met the winning company a few days earlier. The crew is on the site and doing prep work. Equipment has been shipped from China. The deliveries have not arrived. The contractors say they will make the dates. Panasiuk said he is worried about how the gear will get through the border. If that clears, they promise the greenhouse by the end of this year.
The new house is called fifth-generation. Artificial intelligence is supposed to run the extra lighting and other settings. The greenhouse area now is 1.6 hectares. The target is 10. Joining the Brest free economic zone is tied to that larger size, not to the house going up now. The paper does not name the Chinese contractor, the contract sum, or how many people are on the site. The border is the catch Panasiuk put on the year-end date./.
