FTZ 16 : Yazaki Gets a Subzone in Petoskey
FTZ News: The Foreign-Trade Zones Board on Oct. 6 gave Yazaki North America subzone status in Petoskey, Mich. The site is Subzone 16C of Foreign-Trade Zone 16.
Commerce filed the order Thursday for Friday’s Federal Register. The Sault Ste. Marie Economic Development Corporation, grantee of Zone 16, applied on Aug. 13. The board asked for comment on Aug. 18, at 91 FR 53402. The case is S-406-2026. Colin Agostisi, executive secretary, signed it. The grant is tied to the zone statute, board rules including section 400.13, and Zone 16’s 2,000-acre activation ceiling.
Yazaki also has a production notice in for the same plant, B-127-2026, received Sept. 21. It covers stamped copper terminals, duty-free. Foreign stock on the filing is copper-zinc, copper-nickel, refined copper and copper-tin coil, and cold-rolled stainless sheet, at duties from zero to 3 percent. Metal hit by Section 232 or Section 301 tariffs has to come in under privileged-foreign status, which sets the rate at admission. Comments close 40 days after the notice runs. John Frye has the file.
